Emergency Planning
The City staff, with assistance from consultants, is completing a comprehensive emergency management plan. After the completion of this plan, the City staff will be trained on their roles and responsibilities during an emergency. A public education process will be part of the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Langley initiative, which is being re-juvenated by the City. Langley residents will have the chance to learn what the City is prepared to do, as well as what the City will not be able to do, in the event of an emergency.

To Obtain Information in the Event of an Emergency
Island County Department of Emergency Management (ICDEM) has established an Information Hotline: 360-678-5111, ext. 6000. The line is for information only, no messages can be left. ICDEM will attempt to update the hotline at least every 4 hours with current shelter information, road closures, school closures, etc.
Also, KWDB 1110 AM and KRKO 1380 AM have been identified as the information radio stations for Island County.
